SKYE (Blackberry Skye) Went to join Ausvag Kennels in Australia. Skye spends her days immersed in a family with children and with two other gorjus Swedish Vallhunds "Tess" and "Aussie". Skye is looking a lot like her Dad Murphy, and we know she will do very well as a show/breeding bitch. Cassie, her owner says "Skye is still the sweetest most beautiful girl and I am loving every moment with her."
OSKAR (Blackberry Gold) Lives very happily with his mum Mary and Dad Arthur in Christchurch.and another doggy friend 'Chance'. Mary reports that Oskar is really very intelligent, his food bowl is placed on a plastic mat in the kitchen, if Oskar thinks Mary is late in getting his food served he will drag his plastic mat out of the kitchen to put at her feet. We got to visit Oskar in Sept '08 and were delighted to see how solid and handsome he was looking. He has a lovely coat, developing nicely and is a well behaved and trained boy.
SAX (Blackberry Jazz) A beautiful little bobtailed boy has been exported to Australia to join Ausled Kennels as a breeding stud dog. His handler Lisa Jönsson has been very pleased with his progress so far. He has had a great start to his showing career (note home page) but more importantly Lisa says he has great character, "He is an absolute joy and delight to have around. He is a very good ambassador for the breed, friendly and outgoing, inquisitive and at the same time keen to please. And of course good looking too. I continue to be amazed at how angel like he is when we are out and about - yet at home he can be a real little whirlwind, most definitely leaves a trail behind him".
SMUDGE (Blackberry Pearl) When Smudge was born she was first to get to her feet, first out of the litter box, first to everything. She was a stand out little girl with a big heart and noticabley braver than her whole litter. (Which is saying something when all Vallhunds are courageous dogs). It was both a sad day when she left and a great day as we knew she was going to a fabulous home. Today she lives with good mate 'Diesel' (Labrador) and her owner Julia in Wellington. Smudge gets daily walks on the beach and has developed into a delightful wee lady. Julia says "Smudge is the most gorgeous, wonderful, cuddly, smoochy puppy. She has been the best in class for 3 weeks in a row at obedience. She loves a variety of toys her favourite being the tennis ball and loves to play fetch on the beach, today she had a big swim, complete with a couple of big dumps by the waves. She is fearless and courageous with affection and smooches. Gosh I sound like a proud mum. I am, she is a great fur baby."
THORN (Blackberry Thorn) Lives just 40 minutes away from us with a family in Balclutha. He is a very happy and attractive Vallhund, with great markings.
ABBY (Blackberry Kiss) Lives and herds cattle on a farm in Mosgiel. Terry her owner is absolutely thrilled with her so far. Updates including photos and video of her working coming soon.
SMOKIE (Blackberry Smoke) Was a great little boy, quite dark but with a clownish gentle little nature. He loved to snuggle up with the children and we noticed he was bright and interested in ball play from early on. These are Smokie's baby photos only, plus a video of him when he was small. Smokie went to live with a family in Nelson and sadly we learned that in September Smokie died in a freak accident. His family were devastated and we too were very upset that he has passed away. R.I.P. little Smokie, you left too soon.
